UNDERGROUND MINISTRIES

UNDERGROUND MINISTRIES

Maplewood works in partnership with Underground Ministries as part its One Prisoner-One Parish (OPOP) program. The OPOP program matches inmates who are about to be released from incarceration with churches that want to enter into a relationship with and commit to helping these inmates re-enter society in practical ways.

Maplewood also supports Underground Ministries by purchasing Coffee from its partner company Underground CoffeeUnderground Coffee creates gateway employment for men and women exiting the legal system. Employees use their "transferable skills" from the streets: roasting, weighing, bagging, and delivering a different product--fresh, single-origin, boutique-roast coffee--to homes, churches, and businesses across the country.
